Free Geek Feedback from Hardware Drive

Imagine the warm and fuzzies I felt when I saw this in my inbox this morning:

"We'd like to extend a super-colossal cheers to the Gastown tech community & friends for donating their old hardware. And a big sweetheart thanks goes out to Jordan and Strutta for putting the drive together. *Especially* Jordan, who is now a pro swamper! We don't even really know this guy, but we'd totally hire him (as long as we can pay him in keyboards and mice).

"This is the best Xmas/Hanukkah/Saturnalia present we've gotten yet. It's hard to explain how it feels to have strangers call you up wanting to help. Good. Yeah, good.

"Some items from this particular hardware drive won't be suitable for reuse- but materials retrieved through dismantling will still keep our volunteer programs humming & help pay the rent. And best of all, nothing will be shipped to poor countries and get dumped or burned. Good karma for the holidays!

"We look forward to getting future cast-offs, like a nerdy little sister. Free Geek chronically hankers for laptops, servers, racks, RAM and hard drives (yes, we fully squashify data before boot).

"In 2008 we'll be located at 1820 Pandora (3 blocks NE of Hastings and Commercial). Mountain views! Indoor heating! New screwdrivers! W00t!

"Geeks of Vancouver, there is power in numbers. Thanks again."

Oh, I feel it... :)

We think Jordan is pretty darn great too. Thanks for organizing this, Mr. Behan and to all the local companies, who donated to the cause.

Happy Holidays.

mmmm.... warm fuzzies

What a superbly sweet reply from your friends at Free Geek!!

Congrats on a successful mission Strutta team. I'm proud to call you my hubby, Jord.

I hope it inspires others to help out this holiday season too!
