It's day 3 for us here in Austin, at what is far and away the best tech/film/music conference on the planet- SXSW.

Freddie Wong shreds GH IIIAt long last, we've been able to latch on to a decent wifi signal, and wouldn't you know it? I'm sitting on the comfy white leather couches at the Raincity Studios booth. Danny and myself have just snuck out of the Zuckerberg keynote in time for our Strutta CEO to battle Freddy Wong, the "world champion" of Guitar Hero. I use quotes there, because obviously we're going to let Strutta users decide who the best is. But seeing him in action, and watching his video that is already part of our (currently locked in private beta) site, there's a better than good chance that just moments ago we were in the presence of true greatness. Danny will attest to Mr. Wong's skill, having been effectively stomped in a pro battle of "Bulls on Parade" by Rage Against the Machine.

Since we arrived, it has been a whirlwind of conference sessions, BBQ meals and parties that happen in the afternoon, evening and early morning. My camera is acting up some, but I've been able to publish a few shots on our Strutta Flickr account. Today I've hauled out the video camera, in an attempt to document our experiences on video.

We're basically at the halfway point of the action here, and we've already handed out dozens of cards, stickers and a few shirts to folks who are genuinely interested in what we're up to at Strutta. At the moment, Danny is seated next to me talking with David Crow (of Microsoft in Toronto), apparently making plans to build a bridge between Vancouver and Hogtown.

In the interest of keeping my equipment load light this weekend, I've been doing a lot of posts direct from my phone, and they post automatically to my site, so feel free to tune in to some of my rambling voice "podcasts," using Utterz:

1st Night Dinner at Stubbs

Dinner at Fogo de Chao with Danny and Barnaby

And there will be plenty more to come, so be sure to stay tuned. Watch all of our feeds, as I will be posting as often as reliable wifi is available. Are you here at SXSW? Watch for updates on what we're up to on Twitter.
