A New Home for Strutta HQ
Jordan Behan – Jan 14, 2009
We've moved!
Our previous lease came to a sooner-than-expected end, but we have already re-settled in our new digs, just one floor away in Suite #206. Drop by and say hi!
A Full House at Strutta HQ
Jordan Behan – Oct 20, 2008
As
many regular readers have probaby heard by now (or visited and seen for
themselves), we share our headquarters here in Gastown with Bootup Labs.
Bootup Labs is a startup incubator, and in addition to their staff, four companies have taken up residence in the Bootup portfolio and now share office space with us.
Thankfully, there's plenty of room for all, and some very cool folks have joined our already fun and productive office culture.
We'll leave it to our friends at
Bootup Labs to tell you all about the companies that have signed on
with them, but in the mean time I thought it would be fun to snap a few
shots of our new neighbors with our in-house Fuji "Instax" camera.
A Dying Art Form?
Did
you know that Polaroid no longer makes their famous film? That section
of their business has been discontinued, and Polaroid film is near
impossible to find. Fujifilm has the "Instax" film that I've used for
these shots (it appears a bit more "widescreen" than the original
polaroids, yes?) but I'm curious if anyone out there knows of other
fun, instant film types (or stickers) like these.
I mean, with all of this digital technology, and shrinking instant photo printers and cameras, shouldn't there be a whole variety of available digital cameras with an instant print option? Or if you prefer to think of it this way: An instant photo camera that archives a digital copy for later upload?
Help me out, my dear friends. Point me to the cool and fun instant, toy and sticker-printing cameras out there, will ya?

Photos from "Strutta Friday"
Jordan Behan – Jun 23, 2008Friday afternoon saw the Strutta offices alive with conversation, as dozens of members of our beloved tech community graced us with their presence to enjoy a few tasty libations.
That is, we offered free beer and a crowd gathered. Much fun was had. Raul was on hand to photograph and blog the gathering; his photos are below in the slideshow. In case you hadn't heard, Raul wants you to follow him on Twitter.
The Beard Shaving Video
Jordan Behan – Feb 18, 2008At long last, the video of the beard shaving is ready for your viewing enjoyment. Pulling it together was something of a technical feat, as I was in Long Beach while the rest of the guys were treated to the professional barber treatment here at Strutta HQ.
But our trust video camera in the office, a second handheld one (for me) and two Mac laptops in iChat were up to the task of making it all happen. And then there was of course Travis of JD's Barber Shop, with his razor sharp wit, not to mention his razor sharp...uh...razor.
Strutting Our Stuff at Launch Party Vancouver 3
Jordan Behan – Jan 30, 2008If you missed Launch party Vancouver 3, then you missed OUT!
A full crowd packed the Lamplighter in Gastown, and fun was had by all. We got a bit of coverage in 24HRS by Michael Schratter, who dropped by to say hi on his tour of all of the happenin' events on Friday night. Visit LaunchPartyHQ.com for the full report on the evening's festivities.
